The Advisor Network in Solomon Islands
Business Link Pacific has a network of over 60 quality approved business advisory service providers; professional firms available to assist businesses across the Pacific Islands, specifically in Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Cook Islands and the Solomon Islands.
In the Solomon Islands, we have a growing network of business advisors of nearly 20 service providers covering the areas of branding design and advertising, tax compliance, business coaching, IT management, accounting and value chain analysis.
Agricultural businesses play a significant role within the economy of the Solomon Islands. The mainstay crops exported overseas include cacao, copra and palm oil, as well as fish. There continue to be opportunities to invest within and improve businesses within the agricultural and fishery industries.
Tourism also plays a significant role within the Solomon Islands. Both the natural beauty of the 992 islands, along with the unique Melanesian culture provide large amounts of untapped opportunities for entrepreneurial individuals. The capital Honiara features a mixture of modern and traditional cultural aspects, which supports the development of new projects and businesses.
Our Solomon Island business advisors understand the challenges of their unique society, including the slow movement from bartering and shell money to modern cash. They are available to help both new and existing businesses gain a strong market share within their industry by assisting with access to many different types of business services.
As a small or medium-sized business owner based in Solomon Islands, you can access business services at a subsidised rate through approved BLP partners. We currently offer 3 types of subsidies:
The COVID-19 Response: Up to 100% subsidies through BLP approved advisors focusing on services that support business continuity, contingency planning, access to available financial packages, refinancing and renegotiating loans and new working setups, such as IT systems, access to communications platforms and cloud-based software.
Gender and Social Inclusion partners (GESI): Up to 70% subsidies through GESI partners, who work with businesses that champion social inclusion. GESI partners are organisations or NGOs that partner with BLP to support companies that have graduated out of their start-up phase and need support to grow or, in the current environment, to stay relevant in the market.
General Subsidy: Up to 50% subsidy through BLP approved advisors in areas that are not related to COVID-19 or affect the continuity of the business.
