Across the Pacific, micro, small, and medium enterprises are far more than businesses. They are the engines of village economies, the link between communities and markets, and the foundation of food security and livelihoods. Yet they are also among the most exposed to climate change. Stronger cyclones, unpredictable seasons, rising costs, and disrupted supply chains are no longer distant risks. They are everyday realities for Pacific entrepreneurs.
Recognising the urgent need to support Pacific enterprises to adapt and grow in a changing climate, Business Link Pacific and its sister program, SAFER Pacific are helping to bring local knowledge, regional experience, and practical solutions. SAFER Pacific is funded by the Asian Development Bank and is dedicated to enhancing climate resilience and fostering sustainable growth for MSMEs in the Pacific Islands.
Niudawn Resource Procurement and Consultancy
One of BLP’s approved advisors Lagi Fisher, founder of Niudawn Resource Procurement and Consultancy, is contributing his climate advisory services to the SAFER Pacific program, working closely with a Climate Advisor and a mentor.
In his business Niudawn Resource Procurement and Consultancy, Lagi has supported MSMEs across Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands to become stronger, greener, and more resilient.
For Lagi, climate resilience is not separate from business development. It is central to it. His work focuses on walking alongside MSMEs to build resilience, unlock finance, and adopt climate-smart solutions that strengthen both livelihoods and the environment.
Lagi provides climate business development services that help MSMEs become competitive, profitable, sustainable, and climate resilient. His support includes climate risk assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Business Continuity Plans, financial modelling, investment-ready proposals, market linkage strategies, and climate-smart upgrading, including clean energy integration. Alongside MSMEs, he also works with financial institutions and development partners to design climate-aligned value chain finance solutions.
What distinguishes Lagi’s advisory work is his commitment to a holistic approach that is guided by the 3 Returns model, ensuring every engagement strengthens economic performance, delivers social benefit, and protects the environment. Businesses are supported to improve competitiveness and profitability, while also strengthening governance, inclusion, skills development, and community benefit. Climate resilience and environmental stewardship are embedded into every solution, ensuring enterprises enhance rather than deplete the natural resources they depend on.
Climate experience
Lagi’s approach is deeply Pacific-grounded. He works directly in the environments where businesses operate and co-designs solutions with entrepreneurs, workers, resource owners, and communities. This ensures recommendations are practical, culturally appropriate, and achievable in real Pacific contexts.
His regional experience shapes every engagement. In Papua New Guinea, he has supported coconut value chain MSMEs to strengthen Business Continuity Planning and prepare for green finance. In Vanuatu, he has worked with rural agribusinesses to reduce losses and improve incomes through climate-smart storage, processing, and transport.

In Fiji, he has supported agriculture, fisheries, forestry, and tourism enterprises to build resilience through stronger systems and clean energy integration. In the Solomon Islands, his advisory work has focused on natural resource-based enterprises, business strengthening, and donor readiness.
One recent project in the Yasawa Islands highlights this impact. A small tourism enterprise was spending more than $20,000 each year on diesel. After a full diagnostic, Lagi supported the transition to solar power. The shift immediately reduced costs, lowered emissions, improved guest experience, and strengthened energy security during cyclone season, demonstrating that clean energy is not just an environmental upgrade but a strategic business investment.
As climate change continues to reshape the Pacific business landscape, the need for practical, locally grounded climate advisory support has never been greater. With the right guidance, MSMEs can adapt, strengthen their foundations, and unlock sustainable growth.
