SMEs in the Pacific have long-standing problems in accessing financial services due to both demand and supply-side factors, overlain by significant gender-related issues.
These problems have become more acute since the COVID-19 crisis with almost 90% of Pacific Island SMEs, interviewed by BLP in 2020, reporting that their revenue has declined and about half expecting that their businesses will close in the next six months if business conditions or if access to financial assistance is not forthcoming.
On December 18th, 2020, we invite you to join us for the launch of a new service that aims to stabilise and help viable but financially distressed SMEs in the Pacific recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
We will be joined by the New Zealand High Commissioners to PNG, Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands and Kiribati.
